Having started as a blues musician and said to have brought the blues to Sweden, he in the 1970s also pioneered reggae - way before Bob Marley became an idol. Persson related to his down south Swedish roots and, if singing in Swedish, always in Scanian dialect. He also collaborated with Jazz musicians and eventually even joined musically advanced HipHop acts.
