- Jazz trumpet player; Glasel also recorded extensively as a pop session player. He served as president of Local 802 of the New York City Musician's Union and a trustee of the union's pension fund from 1982 through1992. Glassel was known as a union reformer. He also was involved with health care reform and wrote about this topic and other social issues.
