"Fade Away Blues" (in my previous comment) was recorded May 1923 in New York by Perry Bradford's Jazz Phools.

Some 4 years later James P. Johnson recorded a song, that he contributed to himself.

The same verse, that was already present in "Fade Away Blues" and, as I said before, would later turn up in the "Hucklebuck", was used by James P Johnson in the beginning of "his" song.

Listen at about 16 seconds in the next YT.

Recorded March 7, 1927 on Columbia 14204-D

Coincidence or not, only 1 week later James P. Johnson again recorded the song, this time with Perry Bradford singing. and rightfully credited.

And Perry Bradford again recorded his song on April 5, 1927 as vocalist with Jimmy Wade's Club Alabam Orchestra on Gennett 6105.
