- Performance date is for the first preview of the show. The official premiere occurred on November 22, 1965 at the ANTA Washington Square Theatre. A huge hit, exclusive of preview performances, the show ran for 2328 performances at four different theatres, finally closing June 26, 1971. There have been four Broadway revivals of the show; however, the longest of these ran for 308 performances.
