- Published as a harp-air in "Musical and Poetical Relicks of the Welsh Bards" by harpist Edward Jones, who noted that the title related to David Owen of Garreg Wen Farm at Morfa Bychan near Porthmadog, himself a harpist and composer in the early Eighteenth Century who according to tradition had played this melody as he lay dying and had asked for it to be played at his funeral.
