Renowned Latin percussionist. He is the son of Walfredo De Los Reyes II, a famed Cuban trumpet player and singer, and the father of percussionists Walfredo De Los Reyes, Jr. and Daniel De Los Reyes.
Some confusion may arise from the fact that in the earlier years of his career, while his father (Walfredo De Los Reyes II) was still active, he is often credited as Walfredo De Los Reyes, Jr. to distinguish him from his father, the trumpet player. Recordings credited to Walfredo De Los Reyes, Jr., dating from the 1940s through the early 1960s are most certainly Walfredo De Los Reyes, Sr. and not his son.
