Actor, director, composer, and playwright. Of Lebanese and Syrian descent he was born as Charles Khalil Saad in Cairo. He changed his name to Charles Khalil Alexander after moving to the United States in 1942. He played the role of Jonathan Jeremiah Peachum in the 1976 revival of The Threepenny Opera in New York.
