- Formed in 1986, after a few years as Sombrero Verde. Mexican superstars Maná are by many considered the most influential and successful Latin American band of all time. Having sold over 40 million albums worldwide and won more awards than any other band in Latin music history, it's hard to disagree. Allmusic certainly doesn't, calling them "the U2 of rock en español".
