Pianist, songwriter of comic songs he composed and published Blue Ribbon Rag in 1911 in Philadelphia and was active through to 1944 when he wrote, as an English songwriter, I've Got A Lovely Bunch Of Coconuts as Fred Heatherton in London: In between we have him as a words and music man credited with songs such as It's a Man, It's a Man (1923) and Hinky Dinky Parlay Voo (1924) collaborating with Al Dubin, Irving Mills and Jimmie McHugh. In 1927 he accompanied Josephine Trix of the Trix Sisters as she sang Magnolia and Ain't that too bad on a recording. In the 1930's and early WWII years he published several albums of popular songs and dance music as the proprietor of Irwin Dash Music Co., Ltd., 10 Denmark St., London.
