Comments: Romanian military bandleader and composer, who was born in Timișoara during the Habsburg monarchy. He is best remembered today for his waltz "Valurile Dunării" (Waves of the Danube) first published in Bucharest in 1880. But in his lifetime he composed over 350 dances, and his works were published by over sixty publishing houses throughout the world.
