An all-male a cappella group founded at Columbia University in New York. In 1969 the group became the band Sha Na Na, who opened for Jimi Hendrix at the Woodstock Festival and appear in the Woodstock movie, as well as in Grease. The Kingsmen resurfaced as an on-campus a cappella group in 1982.
