- Born Patricia Querubin in Philadelphia, Kirby sang mostly standards as a traditional pop singer. She appeared for a time as a singer on the Tonight show while Steve Allen was its host. Allen signed her when she was spending Monday to Friday at a convent in Manhattan and returning home to Philadelphia for the weekends. Kirby did not enjoy show business and after cutting a single LP and some singles, returned to Philadelphia, married and raised a family.
