A collaboration between Stephen Stills and Neil Young, comprising Stills' then-current touring band. After the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young 1974 tour, the quartet wanted to record a studio album, but Crosby and Nash left the recording sessions in order to complete their own album "Whistling Down the Wire". Stills and Young continued working on the album that became "Long May You Run", but first removed Crosby and Nash's contributions from the master tapes. Young himself left the band during the promotional tour, citing unspecified "personal reasons".
