Kansas City Five [US2]

Small jazz ensemble with members from the Count Basie Orchestra in the late 1930s featuring trumpeter Buck Clayton, drummer Jo Jones, bassist Walter Page, rhythm guitarist Freddie Green and Eddie Durham's electric guitar. When Lester Young joined the band, on clarinet and tenor sax, it became the Kansas City Six. An almost completely different line-up recorded as Kansas City Six and Kansas City Seven in 1944 for Keynote and Commodore.
