- Pioneering New Zealand country music singer, musician and songwriter from Dunedin. In 1952 he married singer Jean Calder and they made their home in Gisborne. The next year his first HMV recordings were released. Wilson and Calder performed and toured together around New Zealand. Subsequently, they moved to Australia where they were based for the remainder of their musical careers.
