Daughter of a Lutheran pastor and writer of many pietistic lyrics, often set to music by Oscar Ahnfeldt. Sandell-Berg was a prolific hymn writer. Two of her hymns, "Day By Day" and "Children of the Heavenly Father" are widely known in the US.
