Folk singer from Saxby-All-Saints, Lincolnshire, England, who became known due to the attention of the pianist, composer and musicologist, Percy Grainger. Grainger made some field recordings of Taylor (who was in his 70's) and persuaded Gramophone to record him in July 1908. Taylor recorded a dozen sides for Gramophone, with nine of those being released on His Master's Voice.
