Comments
Pioneering female country singer born in Indiana. She performed on WLS’s National Barn Dance (aka Renfro Valley Barndance) from 1932 to 1935 as "Linda Parker (The Sunbonnet Girl)", a persona her manager, John Lair, created as the archetype of the mountain woman/sentimental mother, becoming “the first solo Southern female image that combined vaudeville, ideas about Appalachia, and radio technology”. She generally was accompanied by the Cumberland Ridge Runners on the radio programs.

Her recording career consisted of four sides recorded in 1933-1934. Died from peritonitis at the age of 23.
