- Folk and old-time singer, entertainer, multi-instrumentalist (guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, mandola, harp, harmonica, ukulele, spoons, and washboard) from Michigan. He was officially designated "Michigan’s Troubadour" in 2003 by the Legislature of the State of Michigan in recognition of his decades of presenting concerts of songs and stories of Michigan and the Great Lakes States in countless settings throughout the Midwest. Subsequently, he now bills himself as Neil Woodward, Michigan's Troubadour. In 2018 he was the recipient of the State of Michigan Heritage Award "in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Michigan's cultural heritage".
