Comments
Old-Time fiddler, bandleader, and radio entertainer born in NYC and moved to Boone County, Missouri when he was two. Acquired the name "Fiddlin' Bob" or "Uncle Bob" after winning some local fiddle contests. He and his wife and their fourteen children all performed in their family band, Fiddlin' Bob Larkan (or Larkin) & His Melody Makers. The family band recorded twelve sides for Okeh and Vocalion in February and November 1928, respectively. His Okeh sides were credited as by Fiddling Bob Larkin & His Music Makers (instead of his actual last name "Larkan"). His Vocalion sides were credited as by Bob Larkan and Family.
