Comments: Soprano, daughter of Charles de Sardi, professor at the Military Academy of Vienna. She played the part of Cherubino in the first performance of Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro in 1786 making her stage debut at the time. She had in this opera a "breeches role" (also pants role or trouser role, or Hosenrolle), a role in which an actress appears in male clothing.
