- Pop singer-songwriter. Venditti was one of the few artists to emerge from the 1970's Rome folk music scene (gathered around a club aptly named "Folk Studio"). Although he never really abandon politics and has always been very outspoken about his support for left-wing parties, he was heavily criticized by "folk purists" when he moved towards a more commercial songwriting.
