- Singer-songwriter from Naples. Buonocore began as a record producer and session musician in the late 1970's. His first albums were heavily influenced by new wave and synth-pop, but he found success in the second half of the 1980's with a series of sophisti-pop songs, such as Rosanna and Scrivimi. After an ill-fated appearance at the 1993 Sanremo Festival, he abandoned the pop music scene for about five years. In 2001, he made his comeback with a jazz sextet, performing new songs as well as jazz arrangements of older hits.
