Jimmy Kennedy was a prolific popular songwriter, with an estimated 2000 songs in career spanning 50 Years. Born and raised in Northern Ireland, he moved to London where he established his long successful career. In the 1950s he resided in the United States, but returned to England. In 1983, Kennedy was made an officer of the British Empire for his contributions to music, and he was posthumously inducted into the Songwriters Hall of fame in 1997.
