Self-proclaimed "musico dilettante" (amateur musician) from Venice. Albinoni came from a wealthy family but decided not to follow his father's footsteps and opted for a career in music. He never joined the "Guild of Musicians" because he didn't like performing in public and preferred to focus on composition. Famous and acclaimed during his lifetime, he is now ironically best known for a piece that he probably didn't write, the so-called "Albinoni's Adagio".
