Comments
Ijmuiden/Netherlands born singer and songwriter migrating to Sweden with his parents as a child, later adopting Swedish citizenship to avoid military service.
After causing several scandals in the 1960s he became one of Sweden's most acclaimed and appreciated troubadours. Also known for inventing characters repeatedly appearing in new songs (f. ex. Polaren Per, Fredrik Åkare or Personliga Person), he mainly sang in (and translated many songs to) Swedish, very rarely also in English. His - or rather his Dutch (Philips) record company's? - attempt to establish him on the Dutch-speaking market was not very successful due to his foreign accent.
