- Harvard educated medical doctor, Ginandes was also a song collector who performed and recorded folk music primarily in the 1950s. In the 1960s, Ginandes resumed the full time practice of medicine. Now practicing psychiatry in Honolulu, his DEA registration allowing him to prescribe controlled substances was revoked in 2010.
