Swing saxophonist, bandleader, composer, arranger and publisher from the 1930s to the late 1940s. From the late 1950s to the mid-1960s, Paxton was president of Coed, which was primarily a doo wop label.
Songwriter, under the pseudonym of "George Eddy". The pseudonym seems to have been used only for songs Paxton written with Mark Barkan & Sandy Baron.
