- Country music guitarist and singer from West Virginia. While he was still in his teens, Cliff was hired by Bill Cox to play guitar on Cox's radio program after Bill suffered a temporary hand injury. From 1936 to 1940 Hobbs recorded about 60 sides with Cox.
