When he first moved to Nashville in 1943 Ernest Tubb used Pee Wee King's Golden West Cowboys as his backing band. Soon afterward he formed is own band called 'The Texas Troubadours'. This name has been used for various groups of musicians who have played with Tubb over the many decades that he performed.
