- Steel guitar player, songwriter, singer and bandleader. Iida formed the Hawaiian music combo "Paradise Harmony" in 1955; in 1958 they switched to rock'n'roll and changed their name to "Paradise Kings". They were instrumental in popularizing the so-called yakushi pops, or translated pop: Japanese-language covers of English-language pop songs.
