Her parents joined a Christian organization called "Moral Re-Armament" and in the 1960s she wound up a member of the singing group "Up With People". In 1969 she married one of the group's guitarists, Cabot Wade. Close has won three Tonys, an Obie, three Emmys, two Golden Globes, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She has also been nominated six times for an Academy Award and three times for a Grammy.
