Comments
Jazz trombonist and businessman from Melbourne. Traynor led his group, The Jazz Preachers from 1956 until his death. In addition to jazz performance, Traynor was an important figure in the Australian folk revival. He established Frank Traynor's Jazz and Folk Club in Melbourne in the early-1960s as an outlet for both jazz performance and folk performance at a time when such venues were scarce in the city.
