"Dr. Kurt Ostbahn" or "Ostbahn(-)Kurti" is a fictional character invented by the copywriter/ Ö3radio host Günter Brödl as a joke. It developed a public life of its own and was personified from 1983 until his provisional retirement in 2003 by the musician Willi Resetarits, an influential singer, comedian and human rights activist of Croatian origin living in Vienna since his childhood. As of August 2011, Resetarits has been reviving the fictional character in concerts.
