- Surf and hot rod group, created by P.F. Sloan and Steve Barri. They released one album and three singles between 1964 and 1965. Unsuccessful and soon forgotten in the United States, their songs were surprise hits in South Africa, so that Teal Records and Dunhill, who owned the brand name of The Fantastic Baggys, created a South African version of the group. Two more albums were issued in South Africa between 1966 and 1967, featuring songs from both the originals Baggys and the South African impersonators. According to Sloan, "I had written a letter to the South African Fantastic Baggys asking them if they would like any help with what they were doing, but Dunhill forbade me to have any contact with them at all."
