- Surf band from Fullerton/La Habra, California who began playing together while still at school. After trying out a few band names, they settled on "The Surfaris" in mid-1962. In early 1963, another group with the same name had a big hit with Wipe-Out. That group's management won a lawsuit against the Fullerton group, who consequently changed their name to "The Original Surfaris".
