- Radio and television personality from Illinois. In 1946 he joined WNEW in New York City where, in partnership with Jack Lescoulie, and later Dee Finch, he hosted the first "morning-drive" radio show. In 1953 he joined Steve Allen's local television show and continued with Allen after he show went national as "Tonight Starring Steve Allen." He also was television and film actor. However, he is best known for hosting prim-time network television games shows including "The Match Game."
