Gospel vocal group formed in 1920 in Jacksonville, TX, by brothers Frank and Virgil Stamps. When Frank Stamps retired in 1962, the band was led by J. D. Sumner, and when Sumner died, Ed Enoch was able to secure the trademarked group name and reformed the quartet in 2003.
