- Vocal and dance trio formed in 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio. Members included sisters, Vivian and Dorothy Dandridge, and their friend, Etta Jones. This friend was not the more famous jazz singer known as Etta Jones (1928-2001). Appearances at the Cotton Club in New York brought them national and even international attention. They disbanded in 1940. Dorothy Dandridge later appeared in major Hollywood films.
