- Popular singer who became the star of his own NBC radio program "Easy Does It". In New York City where the show took him, he met his future wife, Elaine Lombardo, the sister of Guy and Carmen Lombardo. For many years, Gardner sang with the Guy Lombardo Orchestra. After Lombardo died in 1977, Gardner retired as a singer in 1978. Gardner and Elaine Lombardo were married from 1942 until her death in 1999.
