Short-lived acoustic folk group that was formed while its members were living in Cornwall in the south-west of England. They were active members of a folk music scene whose main venue was the Folk Cottage in the village of Mitchell near Newquay. Their music often bore an eastern influence, with instrumentation that included balalaika and dulcitar (a dulcimer with a widened bridge, customised by band member John Bidwell), as well as banjo, clarinet and organ. The group made two albums in the early 1970s, both of which were produced by Ralph McTell. "COB" is short for "Clive's Original Band".
