Society orchestra leader born in Odessa in the Russian Empire. He moved to New York City where he performed at the famous Bustanoby's Restaurant. In 1918 he started an eleven year engagement at the Montmartre, a night club atop the Wintergarden theater and later he was a fixture at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. He was well-known for performing at social galas and debutante balls at these venues.
