Singer and television personality. In the 1940s she sang with Jimmy Dorsey's big band. In 1948 she recording for Mercury under her own name while still touring with Dorsey. While performing with Dorsey in Detroit, she was "discovered" by Pete Strand, head of programming for television station WXYZ. This marked the beginning of her very successful career in television. Her "Auntie Dee Show" showcased the talent of Detroit area youngsters.
