Let It Be

To raise money for The Sun's Zeebrugge Disaster Fund, "Let It Be" was recorded by a lot of artists under the name Ferry Aid.

(this is record I have a strong feeling about because the disaster with The Herald Of Free Enterprise happened in my hometown Zeebrugge on March 6th of 1987).

It was released at the end of March 1987 on CBC 650796 7/AID 1.

It was produced by Stock/Aitken/Waterman and recorded in their studio on March 14,15 and 16 of 1987.

The single was 3 weeks on nr.1 in the UK-charts :4/4 11/4 and 18/4 of 1987.

On the B-side was The Gospel Jam Mix of "Let it Be".

A 12" was also released.

Among the artists singing on this old Beatles-song are Paul McCartney (ex-Beatles)/The Alarm/Bananarama/Kate Bush/Boy George/Bucks Fizz/Difford and Tilbrook (Squeeze)/Dr & The Medics/Frankie Goes To Hollywood/Mark King(Level 42)/Paul King/Mel&Kim/Gary Moore/The New Seekers/The Nolans/Hazel O'Connor/Pepsi&Shirlie/Jimmy Pursey (Sham 69)/Suzi Quatro/Mike Read/Alvin Stardust/Edwin Starr/Steve Strange/Bonnie Tyler/Kim Wilde/and many more...

The Beatles

On you can watch the clip of the song.Just type in "Ferry aid".
