The question I asked her was:
Voor "Van Aleda" ontbreekt niet alleen een foto, maar vraag ik mij af of de informatie klopt.
Ik dacht altijd dat dit een pseudoniem van Jacques Kluger was, maar hier staat dat het ook naar Jean en Roland verwijst. Klopt dit?
She confirms that Van Aleda is (father) Jean Kluger. So the information is wrong
Unfortunately it's not that simple. Indeed, most Van Aleda credits seem to be Jacques Kluger , but we have also come across cases where a Van Aleda credit was later changed to Roland Kluger in the SABAM database.
Conclusion: We'll have to work on a case by case basis I'm afraid.
Yes. I just came across one listed as Van Aleda, but at Sabam it's Roland Kluger.
I'll check it with Myriam.
What might have happened is that with the heritage they made a kind of split?
I know that Jean heritaded some artists and publishing and Roland got the masters.
I'll check it with Myriam.
Great
What might have happened is that with the heritage they made a kind of split?
I hope not! Otherwise it would mean that writing credits can change, like in the USA!
This is what I got today from the office of Jean Kluger:
"Van Aleda = Jacques Kluger (de vader dus)
Vandaag is Van Aleda = Roland Kluger, Jean heeft er niets meer mee te maken."
Probably this is the result of the heritage: Jean got the artists and publishing, Roland got the masters and the copyright
Potentially, songs that were originally credited to Jacques were now "transferred" to Roland? Is that the conclusion?
Guess what I found a case: Auf Wiedersehen Marleen
SABAM has Jacques:
but ISWC has Roland:
... this would mean a lot of old compositions of Jacques are at "risk".
We would have to find out when Roland Kluger became active as a composer. That would allow us to reassign works older than that date back to Jacques.
I checked with Sabam and they told me that the "confusion" Roland/Jacques is because of the heritage.
Jacques was the original composer but Roland became the "owner" when his father died. That's why ISWC mentions Roland
Ok so when the PROs conflict, we must go for Jacques instead of Roland?
