Notes from the Originals book:


written by Jagger and Richards for the Burrito's out of sympathy for Gram Parsons. You can hear Gram on the outtakes of the Stones version, recorded in December 1969 in Muscle Shoals. This version was released on Sticky Fingers, which had to be posponed because of issues between Decca and Allen Klein.

Changed the original. I didn't mention it was written for the Burrito Bros, because I have doubts whether this is 100% correct?
