Delilah

P.J.Proby did the first ever recording of this song.Les Reed/Barry Mason wrote it with him in mind.Proby cut it didn't like it & didn't even want it on his latest album at the time.Les Reed took Proby's recording of it to Tom Jones & his manager Gordon Mills. They listened & liked it,Tom recorded it & had a world wide smash hit.Big mistake I'm afraid by P.J.

Ron Tennant

P.S. It's on P.J.'s latest CD album "The EMI Years 1961-1972 & it's actually superior to the Jones boy version because the guy had just knifed his girlfriend in the song & P.J. actually sounds deranged & dangerous as he waits for the cops to arrive!
