Dreams by Yo La Tengo

Hi - was this the first place that Yo La Tengo's version of Dreams was released? On the CD cover it is not shown as "previously unreleased". Do you know when it was recorded and first released?

On the booklet it's not mention either if all these tracks are previously unreleased or not, but given the topic and the purpose of this compilation, i would assume they were first released on this record.

I know for a fact that Mudhoney and Sonic Youth had never released their tracks before.

All proceeds from this album are being donated to Planned Parenthood. It would be odd to include a track that had already been released.

Devo's Gerald Casale's text on booklet "Over 12 years ago each of the artists covered on this compilation issued a musical call to arms". I don' think they would use a song that had been released to be included, but i'm not 100% sure.

I own a lot of Yo La Tengo records and i can only find this track on this compilation. Not even on B-sides and rarities compilations.

Terribly sorry for the misunderstanding but i got confused with their Blondie cover and didn't notice the title.

It was first released on this 7" https://www.discogs.com/Various-Happiness-Is-Dry-Pants/release/624022 according to liner notes.

No worries. It can always take some time to establish the first release of a cover. You can tell why we need to be so thorough
