Added, thanks! So there are two versions as sung by Gro Anita: one in Norwegian on this release and one in English on the På treff med 10 - Jubileumsalbum album........
Thom
That wasn't my findings. The one on the regular album I couldn't Identify. The one on the VA compilation was the assumed Norwegian adaption....
I can't access 2 of the 3 autogens now, only the "officially" submitted vid, and it's assuming Norwegian:
Please Mr. Please · Gro Anita Schønn
Vit at jeg elsker deg
℗ 2003 Talent.as AS
Released on: 2003-07-22
Producer: Ola Johansen
Producer: Arve Sigvaldsen
An English does now return:
Please Mr. Please · Gro Anita Schønn

℗ 1975 Talent.as AS
Released on: 1975-01-04
Producer: Arve Sigvaldsen
I'll take a fresh look....

Yes, take a fresh look, that is what I did............

Oh, and the Norwegian På treff med albums were not compilations but regular releases of the international hits of the day as performed by popular Norwegian stars. And almost always the songs are performed in English, when it concerns Anglo-Saxon hits. I even found Inger Lise covering the Italian entry into the Eurovision Song Contest 1974 Sì in Italian on På Treff med 6.........
I will use "compilation" for both previously released material and a various artists deal. A catch-all when it applies.
For the situation at hand, I am rather confident that the current entry is incorrect. At original research and later submission, I was able to listen/sample that "Please" from Ikke gråt om det er vinter og det snør (that now blocked autogen above with the same cover art) and determined it was not a cover/adaption of the English "Please", Likely a Norwegian original.
Based on your findings, I now suspect that Gro recorded English and Norwegian versions that appear on different VA releases. Not my final position though....
Okay, figured it out. Happens on occasion, but the autogen vids and the song titles don't sync. In this case they are reversed. Spotify looks off as well, guessing there was a printing error on the original album:
