History
As The Pioneers formed in 1962, is this an older recording that was re-released? Or a different group completely?
The Pioneers never broke up officially, i think this is a new recording performed by the "remainders" of the group. The song was never released by The Pioneers before (either as a single or in an album).
Thanks for confirming. Do you have some sources, both to confirm that it is the same Pioneers as the 1960s group and that it is the first release of this cover? A scan of the CD liner notes would be ideal.
1. It must be the 1962 group as mentioned by iTunes (https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/the-pioneers/3175573) and Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/The-Pioneers/e/B000ARC448/digital/ref=ntt_mp3_rdr?_encodi…). The same group bio is also on Napster.
2. I assume that the recording must be somewhere between 1969-1976 because the song appears in the pioneer's compilation '20 Original Famous Hits: From The Beginning 1969-1976' of an uknown release date (https://www.discogs.com/Pioneers-20-Original-Famous-Hits-From-The-Beginning-1969… I don't know if it is the same recording but the duration of the songs do match 03:10.
3. I Cannot detect any other release of that song by The Pioneers.
4. I have no other evidences or information, if the cover is unacceptable please note me to unsubscribe it from the covers.
Thanks for your careful research. We can't use the 2015 release if it was released more than twenty years earlier on the compilation that you mention. We could potentially use the 1992 CD that you reference - but only if we have evidence that it was not released sometime between 1969 and 1976. The CD title suggests that it was released earlier.
So you can either do more research to pin this down or you can withdraw this case.
